planning a wedding, need advice?

where should i go to get an italian style dress
where can i find a good wedding planner
where's a really romantic and spacious place to get exchange vowels

my family is annoying me, i don't need to be told what to do, i'd just like some help

Ok here is my advice:

Get a new notebook (or do an excel spreadsheet).

Sit down with the yellow pages and good old google.

Approach each aspect one at a time; venue, dress, BMs dresses, cake, photographer etc etc.

Do some research for what is available in your area and get a feel for what you want: chruch wedding, hotel wedding etc.

Most venues will have a website and most of these give prices so it's easy to list where is in your budget etc.

Keep a log of your favourite places with contact details and then book viewings with their wedding planner (most hotels will have a small team dedicated to weddings).

Once you have chosen your venue see what dates work for you, your family, the registrar and the venue.

Once that's done, get the save the date cards out and start looking for gowns, cakes, photographers etc.

If you want to use a wedding planner, use google to find one. But to be honest, with a little organisation you can live without one and it will save you stacks of money too.

Families can be pushy about weddings so always remember that this is YOUR and your FH's day and it should be what YOU want. Work out a budget and stick to what suits you. It can get overwhelming with worrying about who to invite etc - but so long as you're happy that's all that really matters.
